New at espressa.ch: Caffè Borbone Nespresso Professional capsules from May
Caffè Borbone joins the Nespresso Professional range
If you buy Nespresso Original capsules in Switzerland, you probably already know Caffè Borbone. The Blu and Red blends are among the most popular third-party capsules on the Swiss market. Now Borbone is taking the next step: From May 2026, two blends for the Nespresso Professional system will be available at espressa.ch.
More and more Swiss offices, practices and businesses rely on Nespresso Pro machines — and demand for high-quality alternatives is growing. Borbone delivers exactly what office customers have been missing: genuine Neapolitan espresso in Professional format, compatible with Zenius, Momento, Gemini and Aguila.
Who is Caffè Borbone?
Caffè Borbone was founded in Naples in 1997 and has grown into one of Italy’s largest coffee roasters in less than three decades. The name traces back to King Charles of Bourbon — in 2000, Prince Carlo di Borbone personally granted permission to use the name.
What sets Borbone apart: the company roasts its own beans, controls the entire supply chain and processes around 96 tonnes of raw coffee daily. Borbone is also committed to sustainability, offering compostable capsules and coffee pods.
The two new varieties in detail
Ristretto — Black Blend (Miscela Nera)
The Ristretto is based on Borbone’s flagship blend, the Miscela Nera — the most intense blend in the entire Borbone range.
- Intensity: 10/10
- Roast: Dark, Neapolitan style
- Beans: Robusta and Arabica from Uganda, Tanzania and Vietnam
- Flavour notes: Dark chocolate, hazelnut and caramel
- Body: Dense and creamy with a lingering finish
- Pack: 50 capsules
Each capsule is individually airtight and oxygen-sealed to preserve freshness, aroma and crema. Whether as a short morning ristretto or an afternoon espresso, this blend also holds its own as a base for cappuccino and latte.
Espresso Forte — Orange Blend
The Espresso Forte is Borbone’s answer for those seeking a balanced everyday coffee without compromising on character.
- Intensity: Medium to strong
- Roast: Medium-dark
- Beans: Arabica-Robusta blend
- Character: Full-bodied and aromatic with a pleasant sweetness
- Pack: 50 capsules
The Espresso Forte is particularly well suited for office environments where different tastes need to be catered for. Strong enough for a pure espresso, yet gentle enough as a base for milk drinks.
Compatibility
The Borbone Nespresso Professional capsules work with all common Nespresso Pro machines: Zenius, Momento, Gemini and Aguila.
Initial testers we consulted confirm: the capsules work flawlessly with the machines — clean extraction, no compatibility issues, impressive crema. The blends were rated as “very interesting” in terms of flavour.
Why Borbone belongs in the Professional segment
Borbone has made a noticeable impact on the Swiss capsule market in the Nespresso Original segment. The Blu and Red blends have earned a firm place among coffee lovers here — through consistent quality, fair prices and authentic Neapolitan flavour.
At espressa.ch, we are expanding our Nespresso Professional range — alongside Caffè Mauro and Gimoka — with a brand that has already proven itself in Switzerland.
