Product description
The AMICI Blend Espresso is an exquisite 100% Arabica blend consisting of nine carefully selected coffees from South and Central America, Asia and Africa. The cocoa notes and full-bodied flavour of South American beans combine with the elegant acidity, ripe fruit and caramelized sugar of Central America. African Arabicas bring jasmine and freshness into play, while Asian coffees add spicy and nutty accents.
The interplay of these aromas gives the espresso a smooth yet complex character, characterized by pronounced sweetness, harmonious acidity and a fine bitterness. The silky, velvety body invites you to enjoy the coffee sip after sip, while the aftertaste lingers for a long time. Roasted hazelnuts unfold on the finish, followed by raisins and candied orange peel - an unforgettable taste experience.
This espresso is supplied in practical large packaging with at 5 x 40 ESE coffee pods (loose) in a bag. The pods are portioned and compatible with all standard E.S.E. pod machines. This makes them ideal for frequent drinkers, offices and the catering trade.
About Amici Caffè
Amici Caffè was founded in 1979 by Francesco Illy in Switzerland — the grandson of Francesco Illy Senior, who created the illy brand in Trieste in 1933 and invented the Illetta, the world's first automatic espresso machine. Francesco came to Switzerland for love and built the Swiss market for premium espresso. In 1982, he created the first pure 100% Arabica espresso blend — a break with tradition, as Robusta had always been added until then. Since 1991, Amici has combined coffee with art: together with designer Matteo Thun, espresso cups became art objects, designed by over 125 artists. In 1994, the FrancisFrancis! X1 followed, an espresso machine designed by Luca Trazzi that WIRED celebrated as a design icon.
Today, Amici Caffè is based in Steinhausen and operates independently. The current blend combines nine hand-selected Arabica varieties from South and Central America, Africa and Asia — roasted in Italy in a 12-minute process with precise temperature control. Amici deliberately chooses paper pods over aluminium or plastic capsules and has been committed since 2012 to reforestation through the project "Let's plant Trees in the Desert!" in partnership with the Egyptian organisation SEKEM. At Espressa, we carry Amici Caffè ESE pods, coffee beans and the LT1 espresso machine.
