Product description

The Special Bar capsules from Caffè Mauro embody the authentic Neapolitan roasting artistry of the traditional Italian family business. This powerful blend was specially developed for professional Nespresso machines and offers gastronomy quality for the highest demands.

The flavor profile is dominated by a full-bodied, strong body with an intensity of 10 out of 10. The dark roast unfolds spicy notes of tobacco and wood, rounded off by subtle sweetness from Brazilian Arabica beans. The aftertaste is long-lasting and presents earthy nuances with a hint of roasted grain.

The composition combines Brazilian Arabica beans with high-quality Robusta from Southeast Asia and Africa. The traditional dark roasting creates the characteristic wood and tobacco aromas, while the high Robusta content provides exceptional body and a dense, hazelnut-brown crema.

We recommend this capsule as a short, intense ristretto of 25ml or classic espresso of 40ml. The strong base is excellent for milk drinks - especially as cappuccino or flat white, the spicy profile unfolds optimally against the creamy milk texture.

Each pack contains 50 recyclable aluminum capsules, compatible with all Nespresso Professional systems. As Swiss coffee specialists, espressa.ch guarantees highest freshness and fast delivery directly to you.

About Caffè Mauro

Caffè Mauro was founded in 1949 by Demetrio Mauro in Reggio Calabria. As a young ship's boy on freight ships to South America, he discovered his passion for coffee and at the age of 44 installed a second-hand 20-kilogram roasting machine in a warehouse at the harbour. From a daily production of 300 kilograms grew a company that became Italy's second-largest coffee producer by the 1990s. In 1967, Demetrio Mauro received the Mercurio d'Oro — an award from the Italian Minister of Commerce for exemplary industrial leadership. In 1990, Caffè Mauro became the official coffee of the FIFA World Cup in Italy.

Today, Caffè Mauro is roasted in Villa San Giovanni on the Strait of Messina — using the proprietary Tostatura Lenta method, a particularly slow roasting process that preserves the essential oils and caramelises the sugars within the beans. The range includes coffee beans, ground coffee, capsules and ESE pods in various intensities. Caffè Mauro is registered as a historic brand of national interest in Italy and exports to over 60 countries. At Espressa, we carry Caffè Mauro capsules compatible with the Nespresso Professional system.
