About Hausbrandt

Hausbrandt has been writing coffee history since 1892. Founded in Trieste by Hermann Hausbrandt — a former commander of the Austrian merchant navy — the company combined travel experience with inventive spirit from the very start. Hausbrandt developed a machine that could perfectly roast and cool coffee beans, and was the first supplier to package finished blends in sealed metal tins.

Trieste was Europe’s most important coffee port at the time, and Hausbrandt leveraged this location strategically.
