The high Arabica content of 80% ensures a rich aroma, while the 20% Robusta adds a subtle caramel noteand strong nuances. The playful, warm cover of the packaging underlines the passion and dedication of Lucaffé, a traditional roasting company based in Carpenedolo, Brescia. The name itself is a tribute to the founder Luca Tencati and his love of coffee.
Lucaffé relies on a slow, gentle roasting process at low temperatures - a traditional Italian method that ensures the coffee is the best it can be.and reduces bitter substances. The result is an espresso with a full aroma and harmonious taste.
Lucaffé Piccolo & Dolce is sweet and aromatic with a fine caramel note, consists of 80% Arabica and 20% Robusta and is perfectly balanced. The gentle roasting process makes it particularly palate-friendly. Produced in the Lucaffé factory in Brescia, it is ideal for all E.S.E. pod machines with a 44 mm diameter. About Lucaffè
Lucaffè was founded in 1996 by Gian Luca Venturelli on Lake Garda — in a 30-square-metre workshop with a roasting machine from the 1950s. Venturelli had previously studied espresso at university, trained at a small roastery in Desenzano del Garda and worked directly with coffee farmers in South America. His guiding principle "La Qualità è Salute" — quality is health — still defines the brand today. Lucaffè was the first roastery in Italy to use a fluidised bed roaster: air heated to 250 °C circulates evenly around the beans, preventing uneven roasting and burning. The beans are then ground in a three-stage process under oxygen exclusion at low temperature. Everything is packed in the signature Lucaffè stainless steel tins under nitrogen atmosphere — plastic-free and 100% recyclable.
Today, Lucaffè exports to over 70 countries and produces more than two million ESE pods per month. The Nespresso-compatible capsules are made from sugarcane extract and are both biodegradable and compostable — a rare dual certification in the market. In 2023, the Pulcinella blend was awarded best espresso, followed in 2024 by Blucaffè with the same title and victory at the Best Espresso Contest in Naples. The company is registered as an Italian Società Benefit and a close partner of Espressa. At Espressa, we carry Lucaffè coffee beans, ESE pods and Nespresso-compatible capsules.
